Sun Group is honored to receive the award of Asia’s leading travel group

Recently, on September 7, 2022, at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia Oceania region, the “Asia’s Leading Travel Group” award honored Sun Group of Vietnam. This is also the first time Sun Group has been awarded at this category.

WTA is an award ceremony to honor the best service providers in the fields of tourism and travel. Founded in 1993, then held annually, now WTA has become one of the most prestigious and famous award ceremonies and has been likened by the Wall Street Journal – the world’s leading daily newspaper as “the Oscar award of the world travel industry”. Also at WTA 2022, in addition to the “Asia’s Leading Travel Group” award, Sun Group was also honored in many other categories for brands and hotels invested by the Group such as: Asia’s leading resort tourism developer” for Sun Hospitality Group – a resort brand of Sun Group; “Luxury Boutique Hotel” for Capella Hanoi Hotel, “Family Beach Resort” for New World Resort Phu Quoc and Premier Village Ha Long Bay Resort and “Luxury Wedding Resort” for J.W. Marriott Phu Quoc Resort.

Commenting on Sun Group, WTA Chairman – Mr. Graham Cooke is proud of Sun Group’s achievements, and emphasized that Sun Group deserves to be voted as the leading travel group in Asia 2022 when it has conquered worldwide travel with remarkable achievements in comprehensive tourism development. Sun Group is one of the few companies in the world pioneering in self-development of airports, private ports, luxury resorts, high-class 5-star hotel chains, amusement parks, tourist destinations, healthcare tourism, etc., especially the development of lifestyles for visitors – one of the extremely important elements of comprehensive tourism at a high level.

Mr. Dang Minh Truong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group also expressed that this award is a meaningful gift, a pride for the Group, and at the same time, it also becomes a great motivation for Sun Group to continue the journey of ‘beautifying the lands’ with more classy products and services, thereby contributing to raising the position of Vietnam’s tourism on the world tourism map.

It can be said that the awards at WTA 2022 are recognition for Sun Group’s relentless efforts in innovation, creativity and caliber in the Asia-Oceania region. Sun Group was established in Ukraine, but in 2007, the group’s leaders decided to return to Vietnam to start a business. Sun Group is one of the few Vietnamese private corporations that pioneers in choosing to invest in tourism, resort and entertainment – one of the fields that requires large investment capital but the recovery time is limited and long capital recovery time. However, after 15 years of operation, Sun Group has grown stronger and made a great contribution to bringing Vietnam’s tourism to a new level, and at the same time brought about a drastic change in appearance and way of developing local tourism.

Da Nang is the place where Sun Group chooses to start a business when returning to Vietnam. This is one of the clear proofs for a part of Sun Group’s contribution to the irresistible attraction of the Pearl Island.

In Sa Pa with the 5-star Hotel de la Coupole MGallery Sa Pa, the record Fansipan cable car project and Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area, Sun Group has contributed to making outstanding changes to the mountain town. The district’s total tourism revenue has nearly tripled in the three years since the Sa Pa cable car was born, reaching VND 4,000 billion in 2018 and 10 times higher in 2010. According to statistics from 2016, Sa Pa tourism Pa grows by an average of 20-30% per year and for every 10 people, about 7 people ride the Fansipan cable car.
